How to listen to your favourite music without streaming:1. Obvious: use your CDs/vinyls !!
You can buy portable CD players and CD cases if you want to experience music on-the-go, the 80’s way. 🕺2. Use Weverse albums
If you have any Weverse albums already (do not buy them to do this), you can still use the app. It works just like iTunes, it’s literally just a digital album that you don’t have to upload/download to your phone yourself. No streams come from this method!3. Use Soundcloud
Official audios on soundcloud can still be monetised but feel free to listen to fan uploads !!4. MP3s !!

Be careful with this. These videos can still be copyright claimed which means HYBE can still receive money from them. Lyric channels that add that random bit of extra music at the end are the ones who try to avoid claims, so try to stick to ones that do that.
This isn’t the best approach because of it’s unreliability, but it’s an option if there’s really nothing else available to you.In regards to alternative free streaming apps (musi, ymusic, newpipe)
After reaching out, I can confirm that listening on musi is exactly the same as listening on YouTube and therefore does contribute to streams- ymusic & newpipe have yet to respond to my enquiry but I imagine it’s the same story there too.
If you use these methods, please stick to unofficial audios, but remember to be careful with copyright !!A great alternative to using YouTube is yewtu.be. Its only available on the website, but it doesn't contribute views to the original video, there are no ads, and there are captions!
PRIORITY 6: No engagement on HYBE channels
Again, we ask that you adhere to these rules at least during the strike weeks and only amplify news coming from Palestine on those days.This isn't part of the HYBE boycott but during the strike weeks, we ask that you not only refrain from talking about music on your main/ public accounts, but that you also keep tweets about your interests under wraps too. You will have plenty of time to tweet about them afterwards <3Actions to take:1. Follow accounts who repost concept photos, teasers & other promotional content so you can avoid liking/retweeting/quote-tweeting/embedding any posts from HYBE's affiliated accounts. (Yes, this includes YouTube videos on HYBE LABELS AND BANGTANTV- please use yewtu.be as an alternative)2. Please refrain from talking about new HYBE projects on your main accounts.
Ways to still still enjoy and talk about your favourite artists' work:
a) Invest in a private account
b) Make group chats
c) Make discord channelsThis is to:
1. reduce the spread of new content to those who may be unaware of the boycott- the very least you can do with this is wait until the hype dies down a bit and/or simply tweet less than you usually would.2. combat confusion & doubt from people observing the streaming boycott. If they see you talking about boycotting one second, and then quoting new song lyrics the next, they will doubt whether people actually are boycotting, because they don’t know your listening methods.If you do post about a new project, or about listening to music, please try to make it very very clear that you are still boycotting !!
What Does it Mean to Boycott?
Boycotting is simply the act of of not showing tangible support either financially or socially.
Financially or socially boycotting a specific company or person does not mean that you need to refrain from consuming every piece content that company or person is tied to. You can still enjoy things. Especially if most of the other companies or people involved in creating that content are not at fault.A lot of people engaging with BDS still enjoy the products from the companies they are boycotting, which is why there are details on how to make your own Starbucks drinks and how to make your own McDonalds meals, even though they do not want to support the company for ethical reasons.
